Come join us for a dinner conversation with SAIS alum James (Jimmy) Allen.

Jimmy Allen is a Senior Partner at Bain & Company, where he formerly led the firm's Global Strategy practice and founded the firm's Customer Strategy & Marketing Practice. He has more than 25 years of experience in advising clients on the development of global growth strategies, emerging market entry strategies and turnaround strategies. Jimmy has also launched and is a trustee of the Abubilla Music Foundation, a label dedicated to developing young recording artists.

The dinner will be £35 per person with a three course menu. JHU will be sponsoring wine for attendees. After you RSVP, we will email you with payment information and a link to confirm your meal choices / specify dietary requirements.

Happy hour on "Promoting Innovation in the Hopkins Community" with Professor Andrew Douglas from the Whiting School of Engineering

Andrew Douglas is a professor of Mechanical Engineering and is the vice dean for faculty at the Whiting School of Engineering, where he holds a joint appointment in Johns Hopkins Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Douglas’ research has focused on soft biological tissues and organs such as the heart and tongue. Douglas joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1983, and served as chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 1997 to 1999. In 1999, he was named associate dean for academic affairs at the Whiting School of Engineering and later served as the school’s interim dean.  Douglas earned a BS and MS in civil engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and an MS and PhD in Solid Mechanics from Brown University in 1982.
